REVIEW: FENTY BEAUTY BY RIHANNA

Finally, I have my hands on a palette from Rihanna's make-up line Fenty Beauty. I've had my eye on this range for a while now, with the extensive selection of foundation colours and highly pigmented eye shadows.

When a friend from London asked what I wanted for Christmas, I asked for anything (small) from Fenty. How lucky was I to get this gorgeous Galaxy palette in my Christmas stocking! This high shimmer palette is not only beautiful in packaging and presentation, but the colours are brilliantly punchy. Molten metallics, almost wet in texture, are perfect for creating a statement eye.

On application, I found the shadows gave minimal drop off, meaning I didn't have to clean up much under the eye after. The shadows glide onto the skin effortlessly, making it super easy to blend. It took me about two minutes to create this look after foundation. I started by evening out my skin tone with MAC Waterweight NC20, I used YSL Touche Eclat as a concealer under the eye area and on the lid, I find concealer is a really good base for eyeshadow, as it tends to be slightly tacky, giving the pigment something to cling to.

On to the eyes, I went straight in with the darker green shadow, Xtra Terrestrial and created a half moon shape, working into the crease and just above, blending with a MAC 224 Tapered blending brush. Then I blended the shade sublime (the lighter green shade) from the inner corner of the eye to the centre, fading out into the darker outer corners.

Finishing the look off by lining the waterline (inside the eye) with a black eyeliner and lots of mascara to the top and bottom lashes.

For UK readers Fenty is available on Amazon and Harvey Nichols. Here's hoping it arrives on our African shores soon!
